Display screens are the heart and soul of mobile connectivity. It’s where users obtain information, data, and images. From small screen mobile applications requiring MIPI D-PHY, MIPI-CDPHY, and SRAM/ROM compilers for transmission, to DisplayPort Tx and DisplayPort Rx needed for medium and large panel displays, M31 offers flexible x1-lane, x2-lane, and x4-lane resolution
configurations tuned to advanced processes to provide versatile and comprehensive solutions.

Video and camera lenses have evolved from the early single lens with low resolution to today’s front and rear configuration with multiple lenses and supplementary lighting functions. On 5G mobile devices, the interface utilizes MIPI D-PHY and MIPI C/D-PHY for data transmission, while High-Speed Std. Cell Libraries perform data processing. M31’s Controller and PHY integrated services achieved high-quality image resolution, processing, transmission, and more advanced packaging bypass design (Sensor data bypass mode by bump package routing) that enables compatibility for routed original image data transmission on the same chip, enhancing product differentiation.

USB Type-C

Beginning Fall, 2024, small and medium-sized electronics sold in EU countries, must uniformly adopt USB Type-C charging specification. M31’s USB PHY solutions, including USB4, USB3.2Gen2/Gen1, and USB2.0, fully support Type-C applications. Furthermore, in line with market trends, the USB-IF Association has introduced Alt Mode on USB Type-C, allowing USB3.2 and DisplayPort to coexist on the USB Type-C port. With further expansion of functionality, the all-new USB4 PHY is specifically developed to support the USB4 connectivity standard. It not only boosts data transfer rates to 40Gbps but also introduces Tunneling transmission mode, allowing USB4 to achieve time-division multiplexing of different protocols through Adapter Layer conversion, including USB3.2, DisplayPort, and PCI Express (PCIe). USB4 devices can simultaneously perform USB data transmission, video/audio transmission, PCIe protocol transmission, and charging on the same connection line, while remaining compatible with previous USB generations.
